The world’s first 158,000 dwt Suezmax liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel oil tanker Greenway, designed by China State Shipbuilding Corporation’s (CSSC) 708 Institute and built by Guangzhou Shipbuilding International Co., was delivered to its owner, according to CSSC on Wednesday (29 June).
Greenway is also the largest LNG dual-fuel green ship built in South China, and the shipowner of the vessel is believed to be Singapore-based shipping firm Eastern Pacific Shipping.
The vessel meets the Tier III emission standards promulgated by the International Maritime Organization in both fuel and gas modes.
It has a total length of about 274 metres, a moulded width of 48 metres, a moulded depth of 23.7 metres, and a service speed of 14.2 knots.
Notably, the main engine of the ship has its own high-pressure selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system.
Greenway is the first of two 158,000 dwt dual-fuel tankers that has been delivered as part of a contract signed on 3 December, 2019.
It is also the first time Guangzhou Shipbuilding International has built a Suezmax tanker.
At present, Guangzhou Shipbuilding International has more than 70 ship orders with a value of more than RMB 50 billion of which nearly 40 orders, valued about RMB 20 billion, are new dual-fuel green ship orders.
