On March 29th, Wan Hai Lines organized a ship naming ceremony at CSBC Corporation, Taiwan, to celebrate the completion of their newest vessel, the WAN HAI 331.
This vessel is the first in a series of 3,000 TEU containerships built by CSBC Corporation, Taiwan, and it boasts impressive specifications, including a length overall of 209.8 meters, a breadth of 32.8 meters, a draft of 11.2 meters, and a maximum cruising speed of 20.2 knots.
Ms. Violet Chen was honored to be invited by the Company to name the vessel in the ceremony.
The new containership is equipped with the latest environmental protection equipment, such as Part Load Tuning and EGB (Exhaust Gas Bypass) systems, to save energy and reduce carbon emissions. The vessel also features a new design with a full balanced rudder with twisted leading edge and asymmetry rudder bulb, as well as a Sea Sword Bow (SSB) that reduces water resistance and achieves the highest level of requirement for EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index) phase III in advance.
The WAN HAI 331 series containership has also obtained "SMART(INF)" certification, which uses various monitoring systems and communication equipment to collect data on the voyage and equipment operation. In terms of safety, the vessel design meets the requirements of American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Class for CSC and CLP-V notation. It also has a lashing bridge on deck to resist rough weather and strengthen the ship's stability, ensuring the safest container transportation service.
WAN HAI 331 will be delivered in April 2023 and deployed in Asia trade service. With the introduction of this new vessel, Wan Hai Lines will continue to provide its customers with reliable and sustainable services that prioritize energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.
