Ocean Network Express (ONE) has recently introduced a new tool, the ONE Eco Calculator, that enables the calculation of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from its operating vessels.
The launch of this tool marks a significant milestone in ONE's pursuit of achieving net zero.
The ONE Eco Calculator provides two measures of emissions, namely Tank-to-Wake (TTW) and Well-to-Wake (WTW). TTW measures emissions from burning fuel stored in a tank, while WTW calculates emissions from fuel production, delivery, and usage on board ships.
“As we strive towards decarbonization, ONE is on a continuous journey to encourage stakeholders to participate,” said Koshiro Wake, Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Sustainability Department, Ocean Network Express (ONE). “Thus, the ONE Eco Calculator was developed not only for ourselves, but also for like-minded players and customers seeking sustainable transport solutions and seeking to manage their own cargo emissions."
Koshiro Wake, the Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Sustainability Department at Ocean Network Express (ONE), said that the ONE Eco Calculator was developed to encourage stakeholders to participate in the journey towards decarbonization.
He added that the tool is not just for ONE but also for like-minded players and customers seeking sustainable transport solutions and wishing to manage their cargo emissions. ONE's commitment to achieving net zero is at the forefront of the company's management agenda, along with the Green Strategy that was unveiled in March 2022.
By providing the ONE Eco Calculator, ONE offers its customers the opportunity to choose a more environmentally friendly service. This demonstrates the company's commitment to sustainability and its efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its operations.
