In the Papa Terra oilfield located in Brazilian waters, technology group Wärtsilä has been appointed by the owner, 3R Petroleum, to operate the power modules onboard a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel.
The FPSO vessel is equipped with three power modules, each consisting of two Wärtsilä 50DF dual-fuel engines. As part of the agreement, Wärtsilä will provide an onboard crew to operate the modules continuously on a 24/7 basis.
To ensure the reliability and performance of the installation, 3R Petroleum has signed a five-year Optimised Maintenance Agreement with Wärtsilä. Under this agreement, Wärtsilä will use its cyber secure connectivity solution to remotely monitor the engine performance of the FPSO vessel. With Dynamic Maintenance Planning, the time between overhauls can be optimized, providing flexibility for scheduling maintenance.
Wärtsilä's Optimised Maintenance Agreements offer long-term cost predictability and asset availability. Through data-driven maintenance, experts at Wärtsilä's Expertise Centres provide proactive support to optimize maintenance intervals and prevent unscheduled downtime. This service allows customers like 3R Petroleum to focus on their core business.
“We are pleased to have Wärtsilä as a skilled and experienced partner in operating and maintaining this FPSO. We feel that they are clearly the most qualified company for this project, and we look forward to working with them,” says Humberto Romanus, Facilities Manager for 3R Petroleum.
“We have been involved with this vessel since the beginning when it was owned by the Petrobras group. We are very happy to continue this cooperation with the new owners,” explains Carlos Mikus, Lifecycle Sales Manager at Wärtsilä.
