Moran Towing Corporation has announced that the Company has collaborated with renowned naval architecture firm Robert Allan Ltd., to develop an innovative design for two state-of-the-art tugs to be delivered within two years. The RApport 2800 80+mt bollard pull, escort tugs, with a length of 92 feet and breadth of 40 feet, are equipped with Tier IV main engines to meet the latest EPA regulations. These engines not only adhere to stringent emission standards but also exemplify Moran’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability.
The innovative design of these tugs by Robert Allan Ltd., provides Moran with the versatility to adapt to the evolving needs of Company's customers through the ability to modify and enhance the design for future tug builds. The addition of these two newbuilds will expand the number of tugs Moran has under construction from four to six, representing a significant milestone in Moran’s fleet enhancement program.
