The new 18,980-TEU CSCL Indian Ocean is about to become part of the Asia-north Europe service provided together with UASC and CMA CGM in the Ocean Three alliance, called respectively FAL 8 by CSCL, AEC 1 and AEX 1.

At the beginning the vessels, evaluated at about US$136.59 million per unit have been purchased at 18,400 TEU in 2013 from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). The new ship proceeds after the CSCL Pacific Ocean that was delivered in December.
