On August 13, New Dayang Shipbuilding (NDY), a subsidiary of SUMEC Marine, officially named two state-of-the-art 64,000 DWT bulk carriers, NDY1254 and NDY1255, for U-Ming Shipping, a subsidiary of the Far Eastern Group. The vessels, named Asian Eternity and Asian Endurance, are classed by Bureau Veritas (BV). The event marks a significant milestone in the collaboration among U-Ming, New Dayang, and BV.

Naming Ceremony of U-Ming’s Two Bulk Carriers at New Dayang Shipyard

NDY1254 and NDY1255 symbolize the combined expertise and shared vision of U-Ming, New Dayang, and BV. As the first two vessels owned by U-Ming and constructed at the New Dayang shipyard, they represent the beginning of a new chapter for U-Ming at this facility.

NDY1254, in particular, holds further significance as it is the 170th vessel delivered by New Dayang under BV’s classification. This milestone highlights the trust and confidence our clients place in our services. Our team of experts has been dedicated to helping ensure that both NDY1254 and its sister ship, NDY1255, meet the high standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

These 64,000 DWT bulk carriers, part of our CROWN 63 Plus series, exemplify our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. NDY1254 is Bureau Veritas' 79th vessel of this class. BV has classified a total of 33 vessels in the “CROWN 63 Plus <3.0 version>” series at New Dayang, with eight of them successfully delivered. These bulk carriers are distinguished by their optimized structural design and intelligent energy efficiency management, specifically tailored to meet U-Ming Shipping’s requirements. They also feature unique intellectual property rights and have obtained BV’s Smart(EnE1) and LNGFUEL-PREPARED notations, reflecting their advanced and future-ready design.

Yongqin Yang, President of SUMEC Marine, expressed his gratitude to U-Ming and BV for their trust in SUMEC Marine. He emphasized that the group has consistently adhered to the principle of "customer first", with a strong focus on the shipbuilding and shipping business. By continuously optimizing the Crown 63 series of green ship designs, SUMEC Marine has developed high-quality products with rigorous standards, enhancing its core competitiveness. The naming ceremony marked a new starting point for all parties, offering an opportunity to leverage their respective strengths for mutual progress and win-win cooperation.
