The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) commented that it has now finished the initial surveys regarding the wreck of the cargo vessel Cemfjord.
The ship is believed to have overturned during a windstorm in the Pentland Firth back in January, which lead to it sinking roughly two days later.
None of the ship’s eight crew members have been found.
Rescue teams have performed a side sonar scan along with a thorough survey via a remotely-operated vehicle (ROV).
A MAIB spokesperson stated that the information in question would serve to form part of the current investigation regarding the sinking.
