The Greek Diana Shipping Inc has announced that entered into a time charter contract for the Panamax dry bulker m/v Calipso with China Shipping Bulk Carrier Co.Ltd.
Diana Shipping is a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels. Its fleet currently consists 41 dry bulkers: 20 Panamax, 12 Capesize, 4 Kamsarmax, 3 Post-Panamax and 2 Newcastlemax.

The dry bulker Calipso is a 73,691 dwt Panamax vessel built in 2005.
In a press release, the company announced that the vessel was chartered with a gross rate of US$6,000 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum ten months to maximum fourteen months.
For the minimum scheduled period of the time charter, the new charter agreement is expected to generate approximately US$1.8 million of gross revenue.
Diana Shipping expects to take the deliveries of: one new-building Capesize dry bulk vessel in August 2015, two new-building Newcastlemax dry bulk vessels and one new-building Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel in the second quarter of 2016.
The total carrying capacity of the company’s fleet is nearly 4.7 million dwt, with vessels’ average age of 7.17 years. In this amount are not included the four newbuild vessels.
Diana Shipping is a global provider of shipping transportation services through its ownership of dry bulk vessels. The company fleet is employed primarily on medium to long-term time charters.
