The 159,196-DWT SCF Khibiny has run aground in Marmara Sea near Instanbul.

The incident with the Suezmax occurred yesterday despite the fact that the tanker was warned several times that it was heading into shallow water. SCF Khibiny is fully laden and has 150,000 tonnes of crude oil on board.
Immediately several rescue vessels and tugboats were dispatched to the grounding site.
Currently, there are no reports of injuries or pollution. The tanker is being assessed for damage.
SCF Khibiny (IMO number 9224453 and MMSI 636011492) was built in 2002. The 274-meter crude oil tanker is registered in Liberia.
