The Greek Diana Containerships Inc., Nasdaq-listed global shipping company specializing in the ownership of containerships, has announced that it has signed, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, a Memorandum of Agreement to sell to an unaffiliated third party the 2001-built vessel Cap Domingo, with delivery due to the buyer by mid-March 2016, for a gross sale price of US$ 24,250,000.

The closing of this transaction is subject to buyer’s Board of Directors approval not later than September 4, 2015.
The 3,739 TEU vessel is currently on a charter with German tramp shipping company Rudolf A. Oetker KG, a subsidiary of Hamburg Süd, until March 8, 2016.

Cap Domingo (ex Cap San Marco) was built in Geoje Shipyard by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea.
After the sale, Diana’s fleet will consist of twelve boxships, 4 Post-Panamax and 8 Panamax, ranging from 3,426 TEUs to 6,541 TEUs in capacity.
