No injuries were reported after a fire broke out aboard USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) in Viktor Lenac Shipyard in Rijeka (Croatia).
The incident occurred on Friday (July 31) and the cause is still being investigated.
The ship's force and the fire brigade personnel in the shipyard managed to extinguish the fire in 45 minutes. No one was injured while the damage are yet to be defined.
USS Mount Whitney has been in Rijeka undergoing a scheduled maintenance since this January. The overhaul is designed to extend the ship's service life to 2039.
