Containership suspected to be involved in hit and run accident

The container ship Hansa Magdeburg was suspected to have been involved in a hit and run accident.

At 01:20 local time on September 2, a freighter collided with a South Korean fishing vessel, approximately 60 miles South-East of Mokpo, and left the scene.

There is no information what happened to the fishing vessel and the crewmembers on board, but most probably the vessel sank.

Container ship Hansa Magdeburg was sailing from Qingdao to Busan and was proceeding in eastern direction north of Jeju island at reduced speed of some 6-7 knots in the early morning.
