Italian passenger ferry Mega Express Four hit a pier in Nice in the afternoon of September 15, 2015.
The incident occurred at around 2 p.m. local time while the vessel was backing into the port.

While the passenger ferry was maneuvering to enter the port, it allided with the quay.
The starboard side aft of the ship which got to the berth only in the second attempt, suffered significant damage.
The ship’s return trip to the French port of Bastia had to be cancelled. There is no report for injured people during the incident.
The Mega Express Four left the port again and berthed in Vado Ligure, Italy at Sporgente E. Bricchetto on Wednesday, September 16 at 8.15 a.m. local time for repairs.
