The original Emma Maersk is 156.907-dwt containership, built in 2006 by Odense Steel Shipyard Ltd in Odense, Denmark.
The vessel is the first container ship in the E-class of eight owned by the A. P. Moller-Maersk Group. She is able to carry around 11,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).
