One person died and five are missing after a general cargo ship Hua Chun 19 sank on November 19 in the Yellow Sea, south of China’s city of Qingdao, according to China Rescue and Salvage.

After a four hour search the rescue crews managed to retrieve six out of a total of 11 crew members from the water, with one person not showing signs of life.
The search and rescue crews also reported spotting an oil spill at the scene.
Search efforts continue for the remaining crew members.
Hua Chun 19 was carrying 4,000 tons of steel products from Qingdao city, Shandong Province. The vessel was on its way to Guangdong Province in the south when the accident occurred around 3 am local time.
The cause of the sinking is under investigation.
