The 221 meter long, 37874 dwt container ship Northern Volition caught fire near Vung Tau, Vietnam.

The boxship Northern Volition was en route from Ho Chi Minh City to Shanghai with 900 containers when fire broke out in a container.
The crew was able to extinguish the blaze, but two containers had already burnt out. The vessel diverted to Vung Tau to seek assistance to ensure no other fires were smouldering in any other containers.
Reports state the vessel was to unload the impacted containers at Vung Tau. No reports of injuries or pollution released.
