The 100 meter long, 5265 dwt general cargo ship Sardius ran aground Wednesday morning (Nov 25) on the North Sea Canal at Ijmuiden, Netherlands.
The Sardius had veered onto a shoreline dike, but was able to refloat itself a short time later.

No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The Sardius was able to continue on its voyage to port of Amsterdam.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
