Diana Shipping, a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, announced on Monday (Feb 8) that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it entered into a time charter contract with SwissMarine Services S.A., Geneva, for one of its Capesize dry bulk vessels, the m/v Semirio.

The gross charter rate is US$4,800 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum eleven (11) months to maximum fifteen (15) months. The charter commenced on February 6, 2016.
The Semirio is a 174,261 dwt Capesize dry bulk vessel built in 2007.
This employment is anticipated to generate approximately US$1.58 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.
Diana Shipping Inc.’s fleet currently consists of 43 dry bulk vessels (2 Newcastlemax, 14 Capesize, 3 Post-Panamax, 4 Kamsarmax and 20 Panamax).
