Gener8 Maritime, Inc., a leading U.S.-based provider of international seaborne crude oil transportation services, announced that it took delivery of the “ECO” VLCC the Gener8 Success on March 22, 2016 from Shanghai Waigoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.
The Gener8 Success represents the eighth of 21 “ECO” VLCCs expected to be delivered into Gener8 Maritime’s fleet. Upon delivery, the Gener8 Success entered Navig8’s VL8 Pool.
As of March 28, 2016, Gener8 Maritime has a fleet of 45 wholly-owned vessels on a fully-delivered basis. Gener8’s fleet is comprised of 13 VLCC newbuildings and 32 vessels on the water consisting of 15 VLCCs, 11 Suezmaxes, four Aframaxes, and two Panamax tankers, with a total carrying capacity of approximately 10.8 million deadweight tons (“DWT”), and average age on a DWT basis of less than 6 years on a fully-delivered basis. Gener8 Maritime is incorporated under the laws of the Marshall Islands and headquartered in New York.
