In late May the vessel conducted its sea trials during a seven-day period, after which it returned to the shipyard.
In August 2014, the shipbuilder ventured into the tanker building market as it received orders to construct up to ten 38,000 dwt chemical tankers for two shipowners.
Namely, Jiangsu Hantong signed a contract with Goldwin Shipping to build one tanker, with an option for further two vessels. Additionally, the shipbuilder entered into an agreement with China’s Sinochem Shipping for the construction of four tankers, with an option for another three ships.
Following the delivery of the first tanker, which was built according to the designs from the Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (Sdari), other vessels are scheduled to be delivered in phases, the shipbuilder earlier said.
