Following a competitive tender, Dutch shipping company Vroon BV has chosen ChartCo to supply back-of-bridge management software and navigational and compliance data services to its entire fleet of vessels.
The two companies have had a successful business relationship for several years, with ChartCo supplying Iver Ships tankers and Livestock Express vessels with digital and paper navigation solutions. This tender award comes after discussions at SMM Hamburg in 2016, where Vroon explained a desire to streamline the supply chain across their various fleets, including offshore-support vessels, to reduce supplier numbers and increase efficiencies.
Commenting on the tender award, Vroon Group Purchasing Manager, Ron Böseler said:
"Following an important efficiency review project, we identified that we had too many suppliers servicing our business. We undertook to reduce the number of suppliers across the board. In this key area, we found ChartCo offered the most comprehensive range and combination of solutions aligned to our needs. We are delighted to be extending our professional relationship with them, as we continue to invest in digital navigation."
Martin Taylor, Chief Executive of ChartCo, added:
"Our ability to provide the widest range of integrated digital solutions alongside value-added services such as navigational and ISM audits, consultancy and management level training, positions us well to win valuable contracts from industry-leading customers such as Vroon. We're thrilled to have won this additional business, resulting in us now supporting their entire fleet with our PassageManager platform."
