Berge Bulk welcomes the delivery of Berge Phan Xi Pang, Company’s new vessel built by the Imabari Group in the Imabari Shipyard.
She was delivered on 30th May 2017 at 0838 hrs (JST). Sailing under the flag of Isle of Man, Berge Phan Xi Pang embarks on her maiden voyage carrying steel pipes from Kimitsu, Japan for discharge in Batam, Indonesia.
In line with Berge Bulk’s ‘Less is More’ energy efficient program, the 38,000 DWT vessel is equipped with a larger, de-rated and better tuned main engine for enhanced fuel efficiency.
Berge Phan Xi Pang is additionally fitted with an air-type stern tube seal, a Marine Growth Prevention System and several other features that add to its energy efficient design. She is also the 100th ship of the series produced at the Imabari Shipyard.
The vessel is named after Mt. Phan Xi Păng, also known as ‘the Roof of Indochina’. At 3,143 meters, Mt. Phan Xi Păng is the tallest mountain in Vietnam.
