Namely, the company was awarded a two-year firm contract for the AHTS, which will support installation and production of BS-4-Atlanta early production system in Brazil.

The contract is expected to begin in September 2017 with the charterer having the option to extend the contract for up to two additional years.

Solstad Farstad added that the commercial terms between the parties were confidential.

As far as the vessel goes, it was built in 2006 by Itajai Shipyard. It is 80 meters long, 18 meters wide with a deadweight of 2800 tonnes and accommodation for 30 persons.

The QGEP-operated BS-4 block consists of the Atlanta and Oliva fields. Atlanta is a post-salt oil field 185 km off the coast of the city of Rio de Janeiro in the Santos Basin in a water depth of approximately 1,500 meters.

The Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) approved the development plans for Atlanta and Oliva in January and August 2013, respectively.
